Going back to basics

What a month!
May has been both incredible and challenging—a month full of spiritual highs and lows, physical exhaustion, and mental stretching.
As I write this, a prophetic act is unfolding during a powerful week with an incredible team. It’s the second time I’ve walked alongside them, and one thing stands out: watching God open their eyes. What started as a one-week trip to Guatemala is now a launching point for many of them into a new season. And for all of us, a reminder that God has everything under control.
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:1
🔑 Rediscovering the Basics
As I taught, listened, and walked with this team, God reminded me of some core truths—basics I’ve had to learn the hard way.
Wherever we go, there’s always something happening in the spiritual realm.
There is a battle we fight daily. So many teams come to serve, but without realizing they’re stepping into something spiritual—and they don’t always operate in the authority they’ve been given.
But this time was different.
God gave this team the spiritual authority to move—and they responded. I saw transformation:
✅ People began reading the Bible daily
✅ They started praying intentionally
✅ They felt the spiritual burden and acted on it
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness.”
— Ephesians 6:12
We must go back to the basics:
• Seek Him daily
• Fight with prayer
• Walk in obedience
• Worship with intention
“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
— James 4:8
🎉 Celebrate the Small Things
We are God’s hands, feet, and voice in this generation.
When you see a miracle—no matter the size—celebrate! Say “thank You” to the Lord for every moment. He is taking care of us and wants to do even more, but it begins with our humility and obedience.
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:18
“Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory.”
— Psalm 115:1
🎶 Worship Is More Than Music
Worship isn’t about being a great singer.
It’s about living in agreement with God’s Word.
Worship looks like:
• How we serve others
• How we treat coworkers and family
• How we respond in tough moments
• How we live every day
“Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
— Romans 12:1
“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
— John 4:24
⚔️ We’re All in This Fight
Whether you’re in Guatemala, the U.S., or anywhere else—we are all in a spiritual battle. And what this world needs most is God’s unfailing love.
Even when we can’t give people money, clothes, or food—we can give them prayer. We can show them that they are not alone.
“Let all that you do be done in love.”
— 1 Corinthians 16:14
“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.”
— Romans 8:11 (NLT)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and He will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6
