If you know me or have been around me in these past few months, you know what I’m going to say. If you have not been around lately, I want you to know that the Lord spoke to me and I have decided to become a full time missionary.

Many people who know me know that God had called me since I was little and I always have always been involved in things that were out of the ordinary. Things that broke religiosity and sought to take the love of God to places no one else wanted to or dared to go. For a few years a ran from this calling due to fear, doubt, or even simply for not wanting to give up the ‘stability’ that I had. But in my heart there has always been a desperate desire to help those in need of Him and share the message of the living hope of Jesus. We can find the face of God among the poor: And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ — Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ — Matthew‬ ‭25‬:40, ‭44‬-‭45‬

A few years ago while I was reading a book by Heidy Baker, God spoke to me and from this moment on I understood in my heart what God wanted for me, however I continued to ignore it. But in that season, God reminded me what Jesus says about being poor in spirit and that it’s a heart posture in which someone is completely and totally surrendered, desperate, and dependent upon God alone. This allow us to understand the only reason we do what we do is for Him. In Jesus, through Jesus, from Jesus, with Jesus, for Jesus. We are completely available to Him. What joy to give our lives for love! I believe being poor in spirit is a choice, a decision that everyone should make to be low, to be completely dependent on He who is always faithful. God responds to each of us according to our faith and our hunger, completing each on of His plans with us that were established before the foundation of the world. God desires that each of His children have a compassionate heart, not a heart of unbelief. We need God and we need each other. God calls us to be one with Him and one as a body. This is the most difficult ‘yes’ because it is not said in emotion, but also the most easy because it is walking with Him and for Him.

In saying that, I want to invite you to walk with me and Jesus to each of the places He is calling me to. You might be wondering what these places are, so I want to write a little about where I have been serving and the places God is calling me to serve.

Give to Give

I met Chako (Isaac Baeza) at a breakfast 8 years ago. Never imaged that a word that God gave to Chako through me, would bring sush confirmation to what the Lord was doing in His life. And now today we can see how this ‘yes’ he gave has now turned into a non-profit organization that has a huge heart for Guatemala, families, women, children, and without doubt, sharing the message of Jesus through various programs. The support of this family has been a huge blessing in this season of life, not just in my personal and spiritual growth, but also in the way God is bringing confirmation to the call that He has for me. Knowing the hearts of Chako and Kelsey, their love for people, and heart to serve makes me feel like I’m in the right place. God is using them to help guide me in this season. I am sure that each one of the programs that they run and the dreams they have as an organization make this a project that will touch the hearts of many people.

Worship Room

It’s incredible to think that we just celebrated that 7 year anniversary of Worship Rolm. I thank God for the life of Jeofrey and his commitment he has given God in this assignment. Each Thursday we have a time of worship and intercession, it is not a church, it is the body of Christ coming together. Everyone plays their part to have an incredible time in the presence of God and guiding more people to seek Him.

This does not stop here, it guides us directly to the heart of worship nights which is the House of Prayer.

House of Prayer

It’s incredible to be able to serve in houses of prayer and prayer rooms in Guatemala.

It’s incredible to see how the vision of different organizations and missionaries has the foundation of prayer rooms. The majority of Christians have not yet heard about or been in a prayer room, but how beautiful would it be to see Guatemala and the rest of the world begin to join in. More than a trend, it’s because the Holy Spirit is calling us to simply pass more time with Him. And in this process of individual growth in houses of prayer it brings a calling to serve and support prayer houses in Guatemala. And support maintaining sets of prayer that are open for anyone to come, grow together as the body of Christ, and pray for the body of Christ.
